Organize Internet Explorer Favorites

You can organize your existing Favorites in Internet Explorer at any time. Begin by clicking on the Favorites word from the menu, then choose the Organize Favorites option.  If you have the Favorites companion window open, you can click on the Organize option from the top of that window.

From this dialog box, you can:

  • Create a New Folder.
  • Select an individual Favorite, then Move it to a different folder.
  • Rename an existing folder or individual Favorite.
  • Delete an entire folder or individual Favorite.

Hint: If you have a number of unfiled Favorite web pages, create the folders first, then select each web page individually and move it to the appropriate folder.

IE Favorites MenuYou can alphabetize your Favorites folders any time.

  • Open the Favorites menu
  • Move your mouse down to the list of Favorite folders
  • RIGHT clicking in any gray area
  • Select Sort by Name

The Favorites folders will be in alphabetical order, with all unfiled favorite web pages at the bottom of the list
