Pages and Web Sites

The Internet is simply another way of distributing information, often using telephone and related technology - just as the fax machines arr. A special programming type language, HTML (hyper text mark-up language) or its cousins, is used so that your computer can read the information and graphics that are on the web pages, and show them to you in a viewable form.

Web Pages can be different sizes and contain  text, graphics, sound, movies and moreInformation on the Web (World Wide Web) is formatted into pages. Pages are all different sizes, and can contain text. graphics, sound, movies and more.

A single or group of web pages created by one person (or group of individuals working together) is called a web site. The main page of a web site is often called the homepage. Sometimes, though, people refer to an entire site as a homepage.
